Identifier 2023-026-FA
Alternate names RSCC - Cape Cod Aerial Imagery Ground Truthing
Purpose To gather GPS information to ground truth the aerial imagery collected in donated data RSCC - Cape Cod Aerial Imagery (2023-##-CNT). Also testing out new GPS equipment.
Location All along the coastline from Provincetown to Nauset Beach.
Summary Points and pictures were taken with two GPS systems, the SP80 and SparkFun. The SparkFun did not return any useable data and only 70% of the SP80 data was useable, the hotspot it was connected to died before the end of the survey and lost NTRIP connection. No data were collected on the Bay side due to the issues with the SparkFun.
Info derived Elevation and position of various visible stable features in the imagery (crosswalks, parking lot arrows, painted lines, etc)
Comments Field work was to span two days - one day for the Outer Cape and one day for the Cape Cod Bay area, but the Cape Cod Bay side was not surveyed due to poor weather and issues with the equipment.
