Homemade sample collection container consisting of a series of acrylic cylindrical bins insulated and stabilized by poured resin boxes. Each bin has a lid on a sliding spring-loaded track and seals with an o-ring. Half the bins had one-way check valves connected to injection modules for introducing preservative solutions at depth. Designed specifically to be mounted on the Johnson-Sea-Link submersible. This equipment allows collection of individual deep-sea coral samples for microbiological work. |
