| Description | The tipping bucket is used to measure precipitation. Rain is diverted into a bucket through a collection funnel. When 0.2mm of water has accumulated, the bucket tips releasing the water. Each tip is recorded using a magnet that triggers a magnetic switch. This switch is connected to a data logger and each tip of the bucket containing 0.2mm of water is recorded. |
