Remote Sensing Coastal Change

Dates 2016-10-01 to 2022-09-30
Description Rapid developments have occurred in remote sensing technologies during the 21st century. The USGS CMGP has the opportunity to become a leader in the innovative application of these techniques to better understand coastal systems and their hazards. To achieve this objective a new five-year project, Remote Sensing Coastal Change, is proposed to develop and apply promising new techniques and technologies for the purpose of addressing the USGS's scientific goals. Development and implementation of these techniques will result in better understanding of coastal change hazards and cost effective evaluations of change across U.S. coastal systems.
