Coastal Change Hazards - Assessment of Florida Reef Coast

Dates 2018-10-01 to 2021-09-30
Description 1) Deliver existing dataset on Holocene reef thickness throughout Florida Keys to CCH data hub for operationalization in reef-lined coast risk assessment.2) Quantify bioerosion rates at 43 Florida Wildlife Research Institute (FWRI) monitoring sites in the Florida Keys by re-measuring permanent markers installed beginning in 1995.3) Establish long-term monitoring protocol of permanent bioerosion monitoring experiments at select State of Florida monitoring stations in the Lower, Middle, and Upper Florida Keys.4) Develop framework for evaluating contributions of physical (sediment) erosion versus bioerosion on reefs in the Florida Keys from elevation change maps.
