Description Small Uncrewed Aircraft Systems (sUAS) were used to collect aerial remote sensing data over Town Neck Beach, Massachusetts. The area is a highly trafficked public beach with a parking lot, boardwalk, and renourishment and dune stabilization plan. On October 15th, 2024, USGS personnel collected natural (RGB) color images, lidar, ground control points, check points, and a vegetation height dataset. These data were processed to produce a high-resolution lidar point cloud, digital elevation models, and a natural-color orthomosaic. The vegetation data can be used to validate the elevation models. Data are related to USGS Field activity 2024-018-FA and support observations of coastal change and lidar data testing. [More]
