Funding Program(s): Other (Other)

Principal Investigator(s): James Flocks

Affiliate Investigator(s): Natural Resource Damage Assessment (NRDA)

Information Specialist(s): Kyle Kelso

Data Type(s): Sampling: Geology

Scientific Purpose/Goals: Acquisition of cores used to understand the sub-aqueous geology, and to groundtruth geophysical data collected in June and July from Field Activity Numbers 2014-314-FA and 2014-317-FA.

Vehicle(s): Ford F-350 Dually - Silver (GSA)

Start Port/Location: Venice, LA

End Port/Location: Saint Petersburg, FL

Start Date: 2015-01-03

End Date: 2015-01-19

Equipment Used: Vibracorer

Information to be Derived: Sediment classification and age of deposition, as well as the groundtruthing of previously collected geophysical data. This will be accomplished through visual core descriptions, grain size analysis and Optically Stimulated Luminescence (OSL) age dating.
