Other ID: 26CCT01, 26CCT02, 26CCT03, 26CCT04

Status: Pending

Organization(s): USGS, St. Petersburg Coastal and Marine Science Center

Funding Program(s): Coastal Ecosystem Prediction System (CEPS) - MDMR MET reimbursable (GR.26.MN00.VBY08.00)

Contact(s): Kathryn Smith

Information Specialist(s): Kathryn Smith

Data Type(s): Time Series: Mooring (physical oceanography), Sampling: Geology, Location-Elevation: Navigation, Location-Elevation: Benchmarks

Scientific Purpose/Goals: These trips will be training and collaborating with the Grand Bay National Estuarine Research Reserve (GNDNERR) staff on how to deploy and collect net sediment tiles (NST), shoreline positions, and deploy and retrieve sensors (RBRs). Plan is to use GBNERR staff and vessel on every trip with minimal USGS staffing. This is the third study in a series that will evaluate the impact of a living shoreline on shoreline erosion and sediment transport.

Vehicle(s): Unknown

Start Port/Location: Saint Petersburg, FL

End Port/Location: Moss Point, MS

Start Date: 2026-01-01

End Date: 2026-12-31

Equipment Used: Pressure Logger, Other, Net Sedimentation Tile , Garmin GPS, Other, Real-Time Kinematic (RTK) DGPS

Information to be Derived: Sediment deposition, bulk density, loss on ignition, grain size, shoreline positions and elevations, water level and waves.
