End Port/Location:

Start Date: 1976-02-21

End Date: 1976-02-28

Equipment Used: uniboom

Information to be Derived: Seismic reflection profiles.

Summary of Activity and Data Gathered: The geophysical method of continuous seismic profiling was used. An EG and G uniboom system was used aboard a small diving boat for the operation. The system was operated at 1/4 second firing rate on a 1/4 second sweep at a power output of 200-400 joules. This system in practice gives resolution of geologic units on the order of the 1-3 feet to penetrable depths of 100-300 feet below the sea floor.
