COMMENTS: | Seismic line for this core is Line AT#4 (sparker line run 27 September; core taken 28 September). This lines runs from 1840-1901 hrs. Core at 1856 hrs. on record. Core into Cretaceous? (site III-2 on uniboom record line 25, UCONN 84-1). Section 1-14 cm void at top of section; not cut. White clayey sand in bottom 2/3rds of section 2. |

0-150 cm (Section 1) - | olive gray, 5Y 4/2, fine - medium sand with silt and clay, some zones of finer texture; (20-28 cm: 82% sand, 12% silt, 2% clay)); shell hash at 34 cm, pebble at 36-37 cm. 40-74 cm: light gray, 10YR 7/1, fine - very fine sand with some small zones of sand - clay mix, other areas of coarser grains, colors vary to grayer patches and yellower patches (very pale brown 10YR 8/4, this a quartz sand with flecks of darker minerals, H2S when sampled. 74-150 cm: clay or silt, some siltier bands between 74-84 cm; colors vary, 74-96 cm: light gray 10YR 7/1, also thinner dark bands corresponding in color to 10YR 6/1 between 96-117 cm, 10YR 7/1 between 117-140, and 10YR 5/2 between 140-150; 110-116 cm: clayey silt (74% silt, 26% clay). |
150-291 cm (Section 2) - | grayish brown 10YR 5/2, clay. 167-195 cm: light gray 10YR 7/2 clay, some mottling of color transition between 186-195 cm. 195-291 cm: light gray 10YR 7/1, very dry and compact micaceous silty sand (210-217 cm: 45% sand, 41% silt, 14% clay). |
