COMMENTS: | Seismic line for this core is Line AT#6 (sparker). This lines runs from 1341-1357 hrs. Core into outwash (site II-2 on uniboom record line 6, at 1142, UCONN 84-1). Section 1 - surface scrapped perpendicular to long axis on working half; sections 1B and 2A in same D-tube; section 2B - clay/sand contact at top of section. |

0-150 cm (Section 1A) - | Dark olive gray, 5Y 3/2, clayey silt and very fine sand, with less than 5% medium sand, occasional pieces of gravel, shells and shell fragments up to 1 cm in width, scattered zones of fine and medium sand; 30-38 cm: sandy silt (15% sand, 71% silt, 14% clay). |
150-180 cm (Section 1B) - | Dark olive gray, 5Y 3/2 clayey silt with some very fine sand, a pebble at 167 cm and zones of fine to medium sand and silt. |
180-260 cm (Section 2A) - | Dark olive gray, 5Y 3/2 sediments getting increasingly coarser toward medium to coarse sand, turbidites (?), scattered pebbles. |
260-370 cm (Section 2B) - | 260-265 cm: dark olive gray, 5Y3/2, silty clay and fine sand with lenses of coars sand, medium sand, and silt, sharp lower contact. 265-370 cm: Sand, well sorted, varying textures from fine sand to medium sand, textural layering apparent that corresponds to slight variations in color (dark - 7.5YR 3/2; light - 7.5 YR 4/2). |
