Location
Chandeleur Islands, LA and Dauphin Island, AL
Summary
Surveyed the Chandeleur Islands, LA and Dauphin Island, AL in anticipation of TS Bonnie making landfall in that area. Bonnie did not intensify after crossing Florida, thus there was not a lot of change in the islands or on the berm adjacent to the Chandeleurs. Large “dunes”, sand piled are the edge of the surf zone and along the road to help protect the developed areas of Dauphin Island were also surveyed. The MS barriers were not surveyed due to the approaching storm system. Ground truth pictures were acquired on Dauphin Island before returning to St Petersburg.
