Purpose To characterize the beach and nearshore morphology and evaluate the USGS Total Water Level and Coastal Change Forecast. Use of CoastCam camera station to visualize and map the beach and nearshore region to determine the types of bar morphologies, their persistence and temporal variability, and the relationship of these changes to wave and water-level conditions. Meteorlogical measurements will be made at the CoastCam location to supplement data on nearshore circulation processes, especially during the summer-early fall deployments that overlap with the shark behavior research.

Summary Cameras collected imagery intermittently from installation to the end of 2021. All images have been uploaded to AWS. Lens cleaning and maintenance occurred on a regular basis from storms/weather. Met Station data was collected. Individual events are catalogued within this activity.

2021-03-04 2021-03-04 E. Marsjanik at Marconi Beach CoastCam. Mechanically installed the new I2Rgus system and electrically connected. System is powered on but cameras are not aligned properly. 
2021-03-05 2021-03-05 E. Marsjanik at Marconi Beach CoastCam. Aimed the cameras as per C. Sherwood. System voltage 12.42V.
2021-03-19 2021-03-19 J. Over went to Marconi Beach to clean CoastCam. Very windy. Voltage good.
2021-04-15 2021-04-15 Eric Marsjanik went to inspect electronics, take voltage measurements, and clean camera lenses.
2021-04-20 2021-04-20 ErIc Marsjanik and Olivia DeMeo installed new Met Station on solar panel pole. Replaced damaged camera housing windows with replacement Sapphire windows. Noa Randall and Jin-Si Over placed targets on the beach and completed survey transecst.
2021-06-30 2021-06-30 Shut down existing met station. Installed a new mast for met station. Removed the met station from the solar panel and moved it to the new mast. The mayfly failed to restart. System was left off until we could come back and troubleshoot.
2021-07-07 2021-07-07 Replaced the mayfly with new mayfly programmed in lab and started system. Mooring number was changed to new mooring number because the location is different now that the met station is on the new mast.
2021-09-22 2021-09-22 Bales and De Meo visiting Marconi to clean the camera lens, download data from the Met station, and reprogram the met station to collect relative humidity instead of barometric pressure.
2021-12-13 2021-12-13 E. Marsjanik and A. Olson investigated Marconi camera box. Found and replaced bad cable.
2021-12-23 2021-12-23 E. Marsjanik, A. Olson, C. Sherwood To Marconi to switch camera lens and take new calibration photos with propped up targets and GPS SP80's

Argus camera system Argus camera system CACO02 consists of two cameras, c1 and c2, which are mounted on the bluffs of Marconi Beach. During daylight hours when operating correctly they each collect a set of 5 images every half hour. These images are sent to a hard drive and also transmitted using a modem to WHCMSC and it is uploaded to AWS. Other Imagery, Video 2
