Comments:
The USBL (ultra-short base line) system calculated the bearing and slant range between the transceiver and remote beacons, as well as depths and positions of the beacons relative to the ship, corrected for pitch, roll, and installation offsets. Ship navigation was supplied by the POS/MV and a Hemisphere GPS receiver.
