Oblique view of seafloor west of Kahoolawe (background) looking east, showing two different age reef platforms and an intervening basin (shown in Figure 1). The youngest reef front (A) is at 140 m water depth and rises 112 m above the basin with slopes of 18°. The deeper reef platform (B) is at 230 m water depth m and rises 80 m above the basin. The ages of the reefs are unknown. The flat-floored basin floor (C) is tilted to the south with depths of about 300 m in the north (left side) to about 320 m in the south (right side). The isolated reef pinnacle (D) rises 48 m above the basin floor. The scale across the bottom of the image is 7.5 km. The vertical exaggeration is 5x.
