Ferromanganese nodules and other ferromanganese coated rocks were collected using a box core from the Samoa Basin, during USGS field activity 2026-604-FA. These mineral samples were described and subsampled for geochemical analysis at the USGS Pacific Coastal and Marine Science Center. Geochemical analyses were completed by an outside commercial laboratory, and the results were provided to the USGS. Geochemical data, sample type and size range, as well as location information (latitude, longitude, depth) for each sample are provided here. The abundance of ferromanganese minerals in each box core sample, in units of kilograms per square meter of seafloor, is included in a separate part of this data release. [More]
