Sediment-Core Images

The following figures are composite JPEG images of the cores acquired in 2006 in the Salt Pond/Nauset Marsh area. The core number indicates the site location at which the core was collected (Figure 1, Figure 3, and Figure 11). The images show the core in sections from top to bottom and left to right in each image. Each photographed segment shows approximately 60 cm of the core and is labeled on markers within the images. In addition, black scale marks on the side of each core image indicate 10-cm intervals. Click on the image or the image caption to view a larger version. The full-resolution images, as well as several downsampled versions available from these HTML pages, are also available from the GIS/Data Catalog page. The core lithologic descriptions and pore-water salinity values are available in Table 7 and Table 8 respectively.
